My character Michi, genderbent version. Just something random for fun~

Gift for  Gelly  <3 Her original character ~ A rain magician whose umbrella's insides shows opposite weather from outside. He has a dog that's always wet! I had this idea after I saw some of her sketches in which his friend, Fog Magician, brought him some cold tea to cheer him up. Don't ask me why I choose to put him in the tea cup though! lol Ahhh this character was so much fun to work with!! Now to fill this post, some progress shots of it :P This is the initial sketch, done on Pain Tool SAI~ I scribble a lot and only worry about cleaning up after I'm satisfied with the overall idea. Sometimes it takes me a long time to make my idea develop ;_; I forgot to take more screenshots but don't know if it was necessary, lol. I color mostly on 2 or so layers on Photoshop using one of the default brushes for blending.  I worried about adding shine from inside the umbrella and making the background not so flat. Later on, I add another...

FFF- OKAY. Fangirling a little over my own drawing LOL I just like this so much! The person who requested this didn't give me much info about the character or even his name.. PERHAPS IT'S A GIRL? I only had a profile picture to work on. AAAAAANYWAY, I'm hoping it's a boy. With a girly look. <3 Since he had a lamp attached to his belt on the reference I had, I somewhat inspired by arabian nights. I wanted this mystic/ magical look that's characteristic of its tales~ (which by the way, I read not long ago). Hopefully I achieved that! I'm really happy about the colors~ I just really love blue hues.  Recently I done this color test  (link)  and turns out I did really well with blue and purple (they are my favourite colors!), but I must have some deficiency with yellows as I wasn't so good with greens and was terrible with browns lol. Filling this post with an alternate Lady Gaga without her weird eye makeup: Happy mood :D

Another request from deviantArt! :D Character is called Michiro, and in her description it said her element is wind so I got inspired by that! I kept thinking of Clow Cards from Card Captor Sakura when I was drawing, inspired by that too haha here's a couple of shots of the progress: cleaning up sketch: After I cleaned up, I noticed the left side of the drawing felt kind of empty, so I tried adding some arrows in a heart shape but that didn't work well. So I drew a bow and arrow instead (I quite like the way it looks :3) After some colouring added: After this stage, I made a new layer on Overlay and add blots of colors around. Then play around with curves (Ctrl+M) and it's done :D <3
