Daily sketch - remake

I used the idea of an old painting I did back in 2009 and remade with my current style. I don't think I'll color it cause the idea needs more maturing :P

I believe this was one of my first paintings with watercolors x_x

I only had this lame scan in gif from years ago, sorry.

Analizing a bit, the old painting looks so stern XD I like how the new one looks a little more playful and innocent.

Hopefully I improved even if it was a little bit.

I had fun with it despite Photoshop crashing when I was almost done then redoing everything on SAI but not as familiar with SAI tools as I am with ps..

it turned out well, I think! It's not perfect but I quite like it still

I need to learn better, but I'll get there~

Ahhh so much shines in this picture, it almost annoys me, lol. Probably the most detailed background from me ever? I put a lot of effort in it although it looks kinda sloppy ;_; 

Even with all its faults, I'm happy!

Rain Magician

Gift for Gelly <3 Her original character ~

A rain magician whose umbrella's insides shows opposite weather from outside. He has a dog that's always wet!

I had this idea after I saw some of her sketches in which his friend, Fog Magician, brought him some cold tea to cheer him up. Don't ask me why I choose to put him in the tea cup though! lol

Ahhh this character was so much fun to work with!!

Now to fill this post, some progress shots of it :P

This is the initial sketch, done on Pain Tool SAI~

I scribble a lot and only worry about cleaning up after I'm satisfied with the overall idea. Sometimes it takes me a long time to make my idea develop ;_;

I forgot to take more screenshots but don't know if it was necessary, lol. I color mostly on 2 or so layers on Photoshop using one of the default brushes for blending. 

I worried about adding shine from inside the umbrella and making the background not so flat.

Later on, I add another layer on top with a different blending mode (usually overlay or vivid light) and add some random color blots around, manipulate to my liking.

In this case, I had this rusty free texture from cgtextures.com (sorry I don't have the link anymore as I downloaded this so long ago), manipulated a little and added on top of everything in a different blending mode. And, tadaaaa : D

I'm the blue bunny and my friend is pink bunny :D

We couldn't draw to save our lives in any paintchats as our tablets kept clicking instead of drawing... but somehow managed to do this lol

Kanna's animation intro really got me (although it's kind of cliche), I find it super thrilling! I love this character~

She's an onmyouji and casts attacks with her fan, and has a little fox as her sidekick:

FFF Japan Maple Story does such a good job with animations ;___;

I'd totally watch Maple anime if there was one lol

Put 2 requests in one picture because both had animalistic ears xD thought it would look fun!

Here's some progress shots of it:

Start off with SAI for sketching/ linearting

Final step is to make a layer on top of it on overlay and add some color blots around and tadaaaa :D

I want to try another way of colouring next time, though ~

I tried to work as fast as I could on those requests and see what were the results I could get, now to experiment more with painting styles :3

I was quite happy doing those requests! They were much fun~ This one is the last of them
