Tim Burton's expo

Imagem
Yesterday (29/03), I was at the Museum of Image and Sound of São Paulo for Tim Burton's expo. It was actually my third visit to the expo and I simply adore his original artworks. I don't consider myself a big fan of Tim's, but I fell in love with everything being showcased, from his earliest works to the compositions, his ideas, play with words and concepts. Really worth the long lines, in my opinion. They don't allow pictures of the expo itself, but I made sure to draw lots each visit! The entrance My first visit was on February 16th, here are some pics: (it gets better, I promisse!)

Montauk Gull

Progress shots of watercolor study, reference used was a painting by Tom Hedderick :) I used my Canson One sketchbook for this painting, A4 size. I really like this sketchbook for paintings, it handles watercolor and ink very well although it's very different from painting on a 100% cotton paper, it's much better than other cellulose papers I've tried that claim to be made for watercolor (like Montval).

New Sketchbook!

I have bought a Fabriano sketchbook a couple of weeks ago :) It's A5 size, its binding is beautiful! It was super affordable and I appreciate the landscape format. I'm not too fond of its pages though, the paper can't handle fountain pens, it holds ink okay with a brush though. I'm somewhat disappointed with the paper's quality to be honest. Watercolor is a big no, even a tgin layer is staining the back of the page, but I'll keep using this sketchbook till the end! I'm a sketchbook lover ❤
